When a gym owner thinks about changing software, there are usually three options on the table: keep the spreadsheet and paper routine, buy one of the boxed or cloud gym management programs, or try a system like GamGym that covers the member side as well. This page puts the last two side by side. We don't name other companies. The "typical gym software" column only states what we saw in price lists published in October 2026; where we don't know, we say "varies by vendor".
Every line in the GamGym column is a feature that works today. Roadmap items are left out, and where something isn't open yet we say so.
Topic by topic
| Topic | GamGym | Typical gym software | Spreadsheet and paper |
|---|---|---|---|
| Member records | One member card with contact details, memberships (days, visits and PT sessions left), debt and installments, signed documents, measurements and last visit. One phone number is one person. | Core feature; how much the card holds varies by vendor. | You build the columns; expiry and debt are checked by hand. |
| Online membership sales and payment | Members buy the plans you open for online sale on your gym page and sign the required documents during checkout. Today they pay at the desk or by bank transfer; unpaid orders cancel themselves after 3 days. Online card payment isn't open yet. | Varies by vendor. | None; sales happen at the desk or on the phone. |
| QR entry (tablet) | In every gym plan. One tablet at the door is enough, and it doesn't count toward your access-point limit. The member's QR changes every 30 seconds; entries and exits are both recorded. | Most local vendors include access in the plan; readers and turnstiles are usually sold separately. Foreign tools often charge door access as a monthly add-on. | Staff ask for a name and write it down. |
| Classes and bookings | Weekly schedules create sessions 35 days ahead, waitlists promote automatically, late-cancel and no-show rules, attendance marked on gate entry, timed capacity (e.g. 18:00–19:00 gym floor, 40 people). Professional and Chain plans. | Varies by vendor; ask to see waitlists and attendance in the demo. | A WhatsApp group and a list. |
| Personal training | 30-minute slots from trainer availability, session packages, two-sided confirmation with a code that changes every 30 seconds, trainer pay per session, as a percentage or salary plus bonus. | Varies by vendor. | Session counts live in the trainer's notebook. |
| Workout and nutrition plans | Exercise library with images, 17 ready workout templates and 12 example nutrition plans; assign or sell them, workout log, measurements. Every plan. | Varies by vendor. | PDFs or printouts. |
| Shop | Barcode sales, stock per branch, counts and transfers between branches, usage rights such as "10 sauna sessions", locker rental. Professional and Chain; online orders with branch pickup on Chain. | Varies by vendor. | A separate cash book. |
| Branches and sub-dealers | Stock, prices and staff permissions per branch; limits are counted across the network. Chain includes 10 branches and 5 sub-dealers; an extra branch is 1,999 TL a month. A sub-dealer is a separate business with its own data. | In published lists, extra branches are usually a paid add-on. | One file per branch. |
| Member side | A member portal that opens in the phone browser: QR, class and PT booking, memberships and balance, documents, programs, measurements. | Some include a member app, others put it in a higher tier or charge for it. | None. |
| Gym website and directory | A free gym page on every plan (branches, hours, plans, classes, trainers, gallery, reviews), an optional gym blog and a listing in the city and district directory; changes are sent to search engines through IndexNow. | Varies by vendor. | A separate website to build and maintain. |
| Reports | Dashboard, collections by payment method and branch, renewal rate and 30/60/90-day retention, access report, profit and loss and VAT summary. From Professional up: an hourly heatmap and active members who haven't come in for 21 days. | Varies by vendor. | As far as your pivot tables go. |
| Data protection and cancellation | The gym is the data controller and GamGym the processor, under a versioned data processing agreement whose acceptance is recorded. Each business's data is separated at database level. Termination and withdrawal requests run with a 7-day decision window and 15-day refund tracking; contracts, privacy notices and PAR-Q forms are signed digitally. | Varies by vendor; ask to see the cancellation flow. | Paper forms in a drawer, deadlines tracked by hand. |
| Price and setup | Starter 2,999 TL, Professional 6,999 TL, Chain 14,999 TL a month (excl. VAT); pay 10 months for a year. Free trial: 3 months on Starter, 14 days on the other plans; remote setup and data migration are free. Free for independent trainers up to 20 clients. | In October 2026 lists, a single-gym plan costs roughly 1,100–1,800 TL a month incl. VAT, and a published plan with a member app is 3,999 TL a month plus VAT; most include setup and data migration. Some vendors don't publish prices. | No licence; the cost is staff time and missed payments. |
Plan details and add-ons are in the pricing table on the gyms page.
What the table doesn't tell you
Spreadsheets have their place. For a 50-member studio with one trainer and no class schedule, a well-kept sheet can be enough. Trouble starts past about 150 members and three staff: two people open the same file, an expired member walks in, a missed installment goes unnoticed. That's the threshold we keep seeing.
Be clear about what GamGym doesn't do today, too. Online card collection isn't open yet; online sales work as a reservation plus signed documents, and payment is taken at the gym. Turnstile and door connections aren't included in the plan price and are set up together with our support team, while QR entry with a tablet works on day one. Combined reports and a one-click oversight login for sub-dealers don't exist yet either.
The biggest difference from boxed or locally installed programs is the member side. In GamGym the member sees their own QR, bookings, balance and documents, and sends termination requests from there too. Some owners find that a bit too open at first. Turkish consumer law already expects the request to be easy to make; the details are in our membership cancellation article.
How to decide
Match each row to your own gym. No classes? Drop that row. One branch? Drop the branch row. For the rest, ask for three things in a demo: an expired member being refused at the door, a waitlist working on a full class, and how a termination request shows up in the panel. Don't decide before you've seen those three live.
The full checklist is in 10 things to check when choosing gym software. For switching, read the spreadsheet-to-software migration guide; for how entry works, the QR entry article. Independent trainers should start at the page for trainers.
The application form is on the gyms page. Once you send it, our team opens your account and the trial starts that day.

Frequently asked questions
Can I sell memberships online by card with GamGym?
Not yet. Online sales work today as a reservation plus signed documents; payment is taken at the desk or by bank transfer, and unpaid orders cancel after 3 days.
Do I need hardware for QR entry?
No. A tablet at the door is enough and it's in every gym plan. If you want a turnstile or door lock connected, it's set up separately with our support team and the hardware isn't included in the plan price.
Is there a trial or a setup fee?
The free trial is 3 months on Starter and 14 days on the other gym plans. Remote setup and moving your data over from a spreadsheet are free; on-site installation is priced separately.
